Hello - This is Maggie Hughes.  I was born and raised right here in Knoxville, TN.  I graduated from West High School (go Rebels) and UTK (go VOLS).  I taught 4th and 5th grades for 13 years at Chilhowee Intermediate School and am now in my 14th year here at Cedar Bluff Middle School.  Of course, to have been teaching this long means that I am really gifted and started when I was only 12 years old. Yeah, right!!!!!  Both of my parents are retired educators.  My brother, sister, and sister-in-law, are all also educators here in Knox County as well.  I guess you could say that it runs in the family.  I am most definitely a mathematician, but am currently teaching a program called AVID and love it!  It lets me continue to do my Math but a lot of other great things as well.  You can learn more about this international program online at www.avidonline.org.  Who knows, maybe I'll be right here at CBMS for 14 more years.  It's a GREAT place to be.
